Terms and Conditions of Membership

All members must:

  • Abide by the Principles of the u3a movement.
  • Act in the best interests of the u3a and never do anything to bring the u3a into disrepute.
  • Abide by the terms and conditions of our constitution.
  • Treat fellow members with respect and courtesy at all times.
  • Comply with and support the decisions of the elected committee.
  • Advise the committee of any change in your personal details.

Photographs

Photographs may be taken at Bishop’s Cleeve u3a activities. Please advise the Beacon Administrator if you do not wish to be included in photographs for our website and other platforms.

Our ConstitutionThis sets out the purpose of Bishop’s Cleeve u3a and how its money and other property can be used. It also sets out administrative provisions for membership, appointment of trustees and for general and trustees meetings.

Safeguarding PolicySafeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Bishop's Cleeve u3a is fully committed to safeguarding the wellbeing of all its members. All members should show respect and understanding of the rights, safety and welfare of others and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the u3a. Our aim in this document is to offer guidelines and signposting to further information and advice along with other actions that are suggested could be taken.

Grievance PolicyThis procedure sets out how we approach problems and grievances so that issues are dealt with quickly, efficiently and appropriately.
Financial PolicyThis is a practical guide to help groups control and manage their finances. Groups are self-financing, the funds belong to the u3a but are ring-fenced for the group’s activities. Simple accounts for all income and expenditure must be kept to allow the Treasurer to incorporate all group monies in the Annual accounts.
