The Groups Co-ordinator is there to provide assistance for Group Leaders to help with the running of their groups. Talk to the co-ordinator if you have any questions, need any help or are unsure about anything.
There is a yearly Group Leaders meeting to share information and ideas. It's a great opportunity for Group Leaders to meet up.

General Information on running your group. Every Group Leader should read this.
Information to help Group Leaders manage their funds. Only applicable to groups who need to collect any money, e.g. for hall hire.
What you need to do as a Group Leader. Read this if you are thinking about becoming a Group Leader, but do speak to the Groups Co-ordinator who can provide lots of help.
Guidance on how to legally use materials in accordance with UK copyright legislation. We have a CLA licence as mentioned in paragraph 5.5.1 of this guidance.
This form needs to be completed following any accidents or incidents so that we have a record of what happened.
All our groups are covered by this Insurance Cover Note provided by the Third Age Trust.

If you have any expenses that need to be paid out from the funds in the bank account, just complete the Expense Claim Form below. It takes 1 to 2 weeks for the money to reach your bank account. If you need it sooner, let the Treasurer know and the payment can be fast-tracked.
Risk Assessments
A Risk Assesssment form needs to be completed for each group. This is a simple task and is done with the help of the Groups Co-ordinator. There are three versions of the Risk Assessment form: for walks, home-based activities and venue-based activities. Click the button below for the appropriate form.

National Resources
The Third Age Trust has lots of useful advice and resources available for Group Leaders. u3a members can create themselves an account on their website to access these resources.
There is a network of over 70 national Subject Advisers, whose role is to provide advice help with interest groups.
Beacon
All Group Leaders are responsible for ensuring that Beacon is kept up to date for their group. Beacon is used for updating the list of group members, managing the group's waiting list and for sending emails to group members.
Website
All Group Leaders are responsible for ensuring that group details are kept up to date on this website. To update the basic details such as leader's name and meeting time and place, please send the information to the Web Administrator who will make the changes for you.
Group Leaders are able to add more information to their own group's page: photos, news and details of future meetings. Contact the Web Administrator and you will be given your own login name, so that you can quickly make any changes needed. Training will be given and there is a How To Guide to help you which can be accessed below.
